One of the most important things to him is destroying the barrier, because he wants to bring his brother Papyrus to the surface to see the sun.

He's a goofy, fun loving amateur cook, wanting to learn how to protect his brother and himself.

He also wishes to help his brother see the sun again.

While Papyrus doesn’t fully understand Sans, he knows that Sans seems to miss the surface, and wants to make his brother proud and happy.

She’s training Asriel, [$%!£] and Papyrus to become better fighters so that they can protect themselves and monsters after the barrier is broken.

She’s the same determined heroine, and pledges her life to the protection of her people.

Despite her hatred for conflict, she understands the circumstances monsters are in, and its importance to her people.

Using the strength of all their hopes and dreams, they strive to break the barrier and establish peace with humanity.

Asgore and Toriel were too old to rule over the monsters any longer, and so they passed their royalty to their children.

On the outside, Asriel is a confident and extroverted young King, however, in reality, he’s deeply insecure about his magic, due to trying to be as strong as his father, yet he struggles with it a lot.

It’s largely because of magic being a reflection of your soul and self-image.

Asriel was taught fire magic by his mother and father, and has his own magic weapon (like Asgore's Trident).

Having never lost his childlike wonder of learning new fighting styles, he began to train with Undyne to become a strong King, despite this though, Asriel really struggles with magic, he can cast it fine, but he can’t control its flow or shape, only the casting or lack thereof.

If you were to ask any monster what they thought of Asriel, none of them would say they dislike him.

He rarely gets into a low period, where he feels unworthy to be King, and as if he’s failed his family, he goes to Chara for support during these times.

To others, it might seem ironic, that such a confident person could be so insecure about something minor, but strength means a lot to Asriel, after all, if he isn’t strong enough, his people will have to take that burden.

He’s rather selfless, and puts a lot of pressure on himself to be strong, and to keep improving, while to the rest of the monsters, they all feel safe and happy under his rule, he has to learn that his strength isn’t fighting but is with people.

He doesn’t at all get jealous about people who are good with magic, however he can be harsh on himself, even if other people are proud of him and his progress, he is similar to Chara with wanting to pursue higher goals.

Asriel needs to learn to have realistic hopes for himself, but because he feels his magical prowess is so important despite not being good at it, he is always holding himself back, trying to rapidly progress instead of progress at his own pace.

Chara is rather reclusive and insecure, despite how long Asriel and Chara have been best friends, Chara hasn’t ever told the truth of why they climbed Mount Ebott, and Asriel hasn’t ever wanted to push them about it.

If Asriel is the Underground’s Hopes, then Chara is the Underground’s Dreams.

Chara dreams to be better than they already are, and want to constantly improve themselves, however, due to their identity, they’re fighting a war against themself, they rarely manage to show up for Royal Proceedings.

While their identity is a publically known thing, monsters are very accepting of it, as all monsters are already diverse, their struggles are not known, and no one would make the connection to why they rarely show up to events involving the Royals.

Chara often blames themself for not being strong enough to be a good ruler, they genuinely do want to help Asriel, and be a good Monarch, but they must solve themself before they can truly solve other people's problems.

To some, Chara may appear selfish, as they are genuinely quite self-centred, but that’s not on purpose, their struggles are too big to ignore, and it takes up most of their time each day.

Chara often visits Asgore and Toriel in the Capital, as they find themself most comfortable around the flowers and gardens their parents keep.

While Asriel is able to help people on a mostly surface level, Chara is far betting at exploring a person deeply and more permanently, whenever Asriel is in a dark place because of being overwhelmed, he will go to Chara, and they help him get out of it almost effortlessly.

Alphys is a brilliant scientist, she designed the robotic bodies for Hapstablook (Mettaton), and Napstablook (Roccaton), and she also helped upgrade Maddy’s (Mad Mew Mew) body.

She’s introverted, but with the support of her friends and Undyne, she’s matured far more than in UNDERTALE.

Alphys has access to a lot of anime and geek stuff, leading her to run a shop (in Hotlands or Snowdin?) with Blooky.

Alphys is largely a roboticist and computer scientist.

The Doctor WD. Gaster you are familiar with… He was an interesting case, his life was cut short after falling into one of his creations and he was split across time and space.

Gaster is more extroverted than Alphys, though, the two get on very well, as they bond over geeking out over science.

The True Lab still exists within A new Scroll, it is the abandoned laboratory of WD, ever since he died, Alphys couldn’t bring herself to investigate the location any deeper, and decided it might just be best if it was all forgotten.
Alphys blames herself for what happened down there, but she doesn’t properly remember most of it.

Gaster is a Physicist, working to generate energy using determination extracted from humans and monsters, rather than Nuclear energy, using ridiculous chemical reactions,

Gaster worked at the same school as Toriel, as a professor of Physics.

A monster with a large heart, wanting to save his kind without hurting anyone. Forgiving and understanding that all humans are not responsible for the war, and that he understands he may have done the same to protect his own people.

After their children have grown up and taken the throne, Asgore and Toriel have moved to live near The Capital, in UNDERTALE known as The Ruins.

She likes to relax and take care of her home, the Royal Castle.

She’s gotten very talented at growing fruit and vegetables, and in fact has started to feed the Underground.

Toriel specialises now in nature magic, she uses her magic to enhance the growth of plants, and can use them as parts of her attacks by manipulating how they grow, she still uses her fire magic, and can combine her plant growth and fire magic to create a faux forest fire.

He gardens with his wife, Toriel, and specialises in plant health.

Asgore specialises now in healing magic, he performs a supportive role in the confrontation against him and Toriel, and will heal her if she takes damage, while being unable to attack for that turn.

Alphys enhances and constructs various robotic bodies for Ghosts to inhabit.

Maddy is brash, and a bit off putting to some, however, she enjoys talking about her hobbies dearly.
